Haven Bird

With just a little effort, you can turn your garden into a haven for wild birds. Things to think about are accessories such as bird tables, bird baths and bird feeders, plants, provide food and shelter for birds and keeping predators.

A well-laid table Bird should be the focal point of all bird friendly garden. You can buy bird tables in many different designs so you should be able to find one that suits your garden. Traditionally, paintings of birds were made of wood, but they are now in other materials such as metal, plastic and even glass are easier to clean and last longer.

Make sure your bird table is placed in a quiet place for the birds are not disturbed when they are feeding and the location away bushes and shrubs where predators such as cats and squirrels can hide.

You can put all sorts of dishes on the tables of birds such as kitchen waste such as animal fats, cheese, fruit, rice, bread and peanuts. You can also buy ready-made bird food mixtures some of which are designed to attract a particular species of birds.

A bird feeder is an excellent addition or alternative to a table birds especially if you do not have much space in your garden or just have a balcony. A little reflection, where you hang your feeder bird that birds can eat in peace and predators can not attack.

You can buy bird feeders which hold seeds or fat or it's easy to make your own by filling a plastic bottle of old melted fat mixed with seeds and other ingredients. Make a bird feeder is a great way to engage children and teach them about nature and the environment.

A bath Bird will provide water necessary for bathing and drinking and it is particularly important in the dry months of summer and winter when the usual supply

Hummingbird Feeders

Hummingbird Havens

The ruby-throated hummingbirds have crossed the scope of the Gulf of Mexico and were located throughout Texas, the Louisiana and the coast of Florida. It is time to prepare your yard.

Simply put, there is a huge fascination for these small packages. It is just such a fascination that fuels the desire to find a way to attract hummingbirds to our yards. How can we attract these amazing dynamo of your yard? It is a question often asked of me, sometimes seriously and sometimes in frustration.

The solution to this problem is to garden for Hummers. Attention should be given the choice of flowers and nectar plants and trees for nesting. It is important to remember that these birds are visual. They have not smell because they have no sense of smell. Therefore, choose plants with colorful flowers tubular, red flowers being best. And yes, there are plants that serve to attract butterflies and Hummers. My preference is to choose native plants specific to your area for they require less maintenance and watering.

In the south, Texas Betony, Penstemon, Bee Balm, Blue Sage Shrimp Plant, Turkish and Cap are excellent choice. In the west, Firecracker Penstemon, Obedient Plant, Columbines fit the bill. In north-east, we could try fireweed, Cardinal Flower, Bee Balm, and Virginia bluebells.

Nesting trees include but are not limited to Red Buckeye or Tulip tree in the south and southeast, Desert Willow in the south-west Buckeye, California and New Mexico Locust on the west, and basswood in the Northeast.

It should provide cribs as well as the flowers of these wonders hum. Certainly, the birds will be attracted by the flowers and feed on them first. However, the feeders will increase food supply and continue to provide food after the flowers have disappeared. We must consider when buying a _blank> hummingbird "> http://www.kingbirdfeeders.com/Accessories.htm"> Hummingbird Feeder has a large number of ports. The ports plus fewer battles occur in territorial birds. Someone may want to buy even more numbers of feeders and place them in different location the court to reduce the territorial dispute. Place the feeders there is much room to maneuver and escape for Hummers but enough nearby for easy access to cover. In other words, it's better if there is 360 degree access around the falls, but not too far from a tree or bush in which the Hummer can find shelter.

Prepare your garden and feeders is a great adventure. This is a activity that will provide many months of pleasure. Then things buzzing in your garden!
