I own the Nuttery feeder. It's a nice feeder and economically priced. It attracted a lot of finches who found it very easy to feed from. It is easy to fill, just screw off the top. Also, it is perfect for sunflower seeds or peanuts.

Bernice:

I happen to agree with you (that the squirrels need to eat as well in those cold months). Although I am aware that we have a diverse group stopping in on this website - and yes, some people do eat squirrel.

I have only ever had problems with squirrels in one of our houses in northern Canada - they were getting into and living in the attic. Truly, it's a health hazard and not very nice to hear the things scurrying around and fighting overhead when you're trying to sleep at night.

But I do know that many people have more than their share of trouble with squirrels (ripping apart expensive bird feeders and scaring off the birds). I think I'll feature some feeders dedicated just to feed the squirrels next month. When you have one of these, squirrels are seen for their amusing antics as opposed to their pesty squirrel qualities.

Cheers! And thanks for stopping by!

I have a verdigris feeder and also a stainless steel one. As far as the squirrels go, I have seen very few in the years I've lived in this area. But I would put out a special feeder for them if I see one in my yard. I like squirrels, and they have to eat too and not be eaten neither.
