    Birdhouse Birds

For bird lovers who love birds and want to have more of them in their garden, there are some simple steps they can take to attract birds all year. You must first realize that the birds need and look for certain things in the environment before to establish a nest. Give him these things and your garden never fails to birds.

When a bird is making a decision to live or visit sanctuary garden is basically asking these questions. And it will make its decision based on instinct.

    Where can I hide?

In the cityscape average, birds were major predators – cats. Domestic cats and homeless people kill millions of birds across the United States each year. Additional predators include other birds such as owls, hawks, and falcons. We can not forget the predators such as snakes, raccoons, squirrels and chipmunks.

So one of the first things that the bird itself is asked is "where can I find shelter "to hide and protect myself from predators? You can help the bird make the decision to choose your field by creating cat proof fences. You can also plan your garden so that it has widely spaced open areas to deny coverage predators where they can mount a surprise attack.

    It is available shelter?

Conifers and other shrubs planted against the walls of the house and garden provide a natural shelter to protect birds from the rain. You can also file a suit and aviary bird feeder in the garden which not only provides food, but includes a top row and side walls that can protect them from rain, severe thunderstorms and winds drives.

Is there a place where I can raise a family?

During the breeding season, is one of the main features that birds are looking for. They are looking for a place where they can live for some time with their partner and raise their young. Depending on the birds you try attract to your garden, you can plant the appropriate trees, shrubs, hedges, and so on where they would normally nest if they were in nature. If you're more ambitious, you can buy or build their nest box on a measure that will answer all their housing needs.

Is there enough food and water nearby?

Natural sources of food are best. The birds will find their natural food sources before attempting other foods. So find the types of foods that your birds natural choice as and populate your garden with them. In the winter when food sources natural dried up and the birds have a hard time scrounging for food, bird feeders can be their friend. Fill a bird feeder with seeds, tallow, and choice of substitute foods that you know they would enjoy. And do not forget water. Birds love and need water and a fountain will do wonders to attract birds to your yard, in colder climates, an added investment of a little money to buy a heated bird bath will provide great benefits in the winter months.

The bird life is fragile and that their existence is fraught with danger nearly all their lives. The more you can do to help them beat the odds as best for them and good for you as you appreciate their presence throughout the year.

    Birdbath Feeder

Birdies and birdhouses, ponds and bird baths, feeders and BEARS! Here we go again. It seems that just yesterday, bears woke up and the hunt for bird feeders filled with their favorite BearFood. Suddenly, here it is time for them to start sleeping provisions for the winter. In fact, I understand the formula well, I just make sure there is no food left in the feeders after dark. This worked fabulously!

I must admit that other general maintenance of a little cleaning consisting birdbath fountain and the pond, and ensure that feeders and nesting birds are in good condition, I have neglected my garden. My neighbor laughed at me yesterday when I said I was "spring" cleaning. "Yes, in time for winter," he said. We both cringed. Winter can come early here and we benefit from the prolonged heat wave, even if we had no rain at all.

Babies chickadee are having the best time at the new bird feeder (Courtesy of the bear). You can tell they are babies because they all have "bad hair" days. For some reason that babies do not seem able to control their feathers if they all go this way and that. They a ton of fun zipping past me so close I think they're going to crush me, but they do not. They will sit quietly on the feeder and watch me as I do not move too quickly. Mom and dad are always close and usually sits on the basin or the plum tree while the kids eat. They seem to have left little birdhouse they started at a higher in the backyard.

I have not had much Migratory birds as usual bird feeders, but this may be due to a change in the mixture of seeds birds. I still can not find the one I used to get so now I'm doing mine by adding berries and dried cherries to the mix seed. The grosbeak is back, but has not moved in close so I do not watch their feeders or goofiness in the bath this season. I miss those guys a lot noisier. I do not see that here the female hatched last year in connection though so it could be staying nearby.

Although this series is usually around birdies I would add some thoughts on the Bears this season. If you live in bear country to remember "A Fed Bear is a dead bear" and "Garbage kills bears." Make sure you do not feed every blow your or your bird feeders, it does them acclimated to humans and makes them more likely to enter houses looking for groceries. Empty your bird feeders at night or get inside. Moth balls make a great deterrent Critter put them in old socks and tie to the lid of your garbage bin. You'll never have another dog, raccoon, coyote or bear spread garbage in the yard.
