Garden Water Feature Performs Double Duty as A Bird BathLately there's a new trend in the garden - adding water features! Those of us with gardens that won't accommodate a pond (even a small one) or who only have a balcony or deck can still have the soothing effects of running, trickling or splashing water. Many of these new water features on the market serve the birds as well. Which means more bang for your buck! You get the soothing effects and the thrill of seeing more birds close up. The birds get a drink on a hot summer day or a splash if your water feature is big enough. Personally I've been thinking about adding a pond to our corner of the world. Something small to start. I've seen a number of pond kits available at Wal-Mart and The Home Depot in the $100 range and I've had friends install similar products in less than a weekend. Most likely next week I'll bite the bullet and buy the kit... Bird Baths and Water FountainsIn the meantime we have a few bird baths and water fountains already. While shopping around I ran across some other nice water features for your garden or patio that the birds are sure to love.
Boulder Bath with Ivy Dripper Again we see evidence of the dripper calling the birds to your yard. his boulder is cast from an actual boulder (but doesn't weigh near as much) and looks real. Set it up in your garden and the birds should flock to it. Includes the faux ivy dripper. For more info on drippers see the article at left "Attract Even More Birds to the Bird Bath." The table top fountain below is one of my personal favorites. A unique piece that isn't being sold in all the gardening or home birding supply stores. Be the first.
Table Top Fountain & Bath with Spouting Fish Made of cast aluminum (extremely durable) and comes with an adjustable flow pump plus polished river rocks! Takes up only 18 inches, makes the sound of running water that birds love and is a striking addition to your garden, deck or patio. Hand finished in verdigris. You can shop for bird bath drippers plus much more at Bird Baths - The best selection and prices on bird baths. I will be adding a few of these myself once I've got the pond kit installed!
